◆いずみワールド・フェスティバル開催趣旨

　この“いずみワールド・フェスティバル”は２００１年１２月に、初めて開催しました。当時も、和泉市には約４０カ国２０００人の外国人登録があり、ますます和泉市も国際化する傾向にありました。そんな背景を受けて、実行委員会ではこの地に住む様々な民族、文化・言語・歴史を持つ人々が１年に一度でもいいから、それぞれの文化や民族性を発表し、出会い、お互い助け合うネットワークを作る機会を提供出来ることを願ってフェスティバルを開催してきました。

　私たちの活動は微力かもしれませんが、いつか素晴らしい多文化共生社会が実現することを願っております。

Greeting

　IZUMI WORLD FESTIVAL was held in 2001 for the first time.　At that time, there were more than 2000 foreign residents in Izumi from about 40 countries.　 And also they were increasing more and more.　So we started this festival for the purpose of gathering together once a year, to enjoy festival and make up good relations, so that we can help each other. 　That’s why we tried to continue this event. 　Now it is 16th this year. We hope to realize a true multicultural society in Izumi.
